root 1.6 donut?? Possible?

ok I need help...

I am really wanting to root my phone but I have donut 1.6 and most threads and tutorials are for 1.5 (cuocake version) and I can not find in these posts if these "roots" will work on a G1 with 1.6

I called Tmobile to ask how to downgrade (did not tell them why) back to 1.5, but they said not possible (HA doubt that).

So what I am seeking is an easy way to root 1.6 (donut) or easy way to downgrade and then and easy way to root 1.5 ... Also I see so many different versions of roots... I have seen cyanogen adn something like jvc or something... I dont know which to use and which is the newest b/c there are soo many old post and threads out there plus you never know what is reliable...

pleaseeeee help!

you root the same way , you have to downgrade to rc29 . from there you upgrade after you achieve root . here is a good guide , use method b.
