Karzai a CIA asset was installed as president, allowing the corrupt regime they now have in power in Kabul.

Those are Mujahideen leaders, most of whom would go on to be participants in the Afghan civil war that followed the Soviet withdrawal. Some of them may have eventually sided with the Taliban, but to say that this photo is of Reagan meeting with the Taliban is extremely disingenuous, as the Taliban didn't even exist at that point.

Soviets controlled cities and Mujahadeen ran the outlying areas. Same as is now. The Soviets just were very brutal in their approach and pretty much piss blasted the country into the stone age....after spending so much into building it up lol. They got tired off spending billions and bankrupting themselves....same as now. Its all the same shit.
