romantic indoor camping?

Three of us!!

I'm surprising my husband with an indoor camping trip at our house. We don't have a lot of money, but would like to have a romantic evening and we love camping. What are some good ideas?

Great idea! Get a collection of candles and put them in a fireproof container to replicate a "campfire" and make s'mores, chocolate is an aphrodisiac :) You might want to check out the brand new DiddleTalk forum, it's for more adult topics and you might get some sexier feedback for romantic evenings!

Before he comes home, cut the electricity. Have candles ready, and some sort of activities. Whatever you do, do not turn the electricity back on (unless the food will go bad in the refrigerator) Turn off the cell phones and ignore the clocks. Play a board game, or play cards. roast marshmellos in the fireplace or in the back yard. The key is to have no access to the comforts which we have all become acustomed to... no matter what. No internet, no TV, no microwave. What you do should not always be planned. Sometimes the best experiences are those which are improvised on the spot. The key to a good vacation is not having a schedule. ... doing whatever you feel at any time is true freedom. If you were to come up with a schedule of events, then you are better off allowing the TV to do it for you. Instead, have a list of ideas and sit down together and decide when the time comes.
I live in Hawaii, so I see tourists every day on vacation. Often times, people schedule their events throughout their vacations. I feel bad for the husbands and kids when the mom is saying "hurry up kids, we have to be somewhere in an hour and then you will do this and then you will shower and then we will go to dinner and then we are going to see a show and then tomorrow we are going to wake up at this time and you have 30 minutes to get ready before we get on the boat for fishing and then we have to race over to the music show and then we have 1 hour for lunch........" It goes on and on and on. The people who really enjoy themselves are the ones who take off their wrist watch, and leave their cell phones at home. They wake up with no plan, but only an idea to get them started. This keeps things mellow and relaxed... just as a vacation should be.
