Roland TD-12 kick drum MIDI note 46 -> Midi out -> Spotlight board -> Light Channel 6?

I want to connect my Roland TD-12 drum kit through its MIDI OUT to a spotlight mixing board, something like the Elation Stage Setter 8, so that the kick drum (MIDI note 46) triggers, say, spotlight #5.

1) How do I do this?

2) What lighting board has the most user-friendly, intuitive interface for assigning MIDI numbers to specific lights on the board?
