ROKR or W600

I need to get a new phone and it has to be one of Rogers standard models.

Wants - MP3 player, I plan on using this on the train into work, likely I will listen to news oriented podcasts and the like.

Gaming ability isn't too important, Camera would be nice if the quality is ok. The phone will be syncing to a mac OSX 10.2.

Questions about the ROKR - if I have more than one transflash card am I limited to 100 songs? or can I have more than 100 eg some on each card?

Can I get photos on and off the phone directly with a computer?

Questions about the W600 - is the camera ok? I use a 6MP dSLR, I'm not expecting as good a quality but the photos my sister takes with her V220 are awful and I'd never use the camera. I know it has a 1.3MP camera, but what about lens, etc? One thing that strikes me about the W600 is the lack of expandable memory and that I've read that I have to transfer photos via the GSM network which is costly.

Can the phone recieve POP3 email, without MyMail? This would be a nice to have, not need to have. I have a BB 6280 already .

How is the W600 for syncing to a Mac for MP3's? iTunes is super easy, if I'm going to get into podcasts simple is important as I don't have the time to dink about in the morning to download and transfer if it's a big todo.

thanks in advance

I can't vouch for the W600, but I Like the Rokr E1 a Lot. Using Motorola Phone tools with my computer allows me to link a Lot of photo's, ringtones ,video's ,songs to the phone as well as e-mail. E-mail isn't important to me on my phone, but it's right there easy to sync using MPT. If you look around on this site or do a search you can find other sites that have information about flashing your Rokr to an upgraded version. The one I'm currently using allows me to fit over 32,000 songs on it. No way I'm getting that much on it, but it's basically limitless. The adjustments that you can do to the sound quality on it are great too. I have a friend that has a Samsung D807 & the sound quality is no where near the Rokr. His phones Treble is there, but the Bass lacks & the Rokr hit's hard enough to vibrate a table if it's sitting on it. The Rokr has Stereo headphones & stereo speakers in the phone as well. There's a neat armband also you can get for it too incase you ever want to use it while working out or jogging.

The W600 has a Tuner so you can listen to the radio, Rokr doesn't. W600 is Quad band, you have to update the Rokr to a Quad band. W600 has 256 megs of Shared Memory, The Rokr comes with a 512 Meg Transflash card (upgradable to a 1 gig card)& SD Transflash adapter card for more customization. I personally use a 3GP converter to compress videos & with 512 megs of memory, I have 10 FULL Episodes of Family guy & 60 songs with about 110 Megs to go. I would think the W600 would get full quick with me.

Go for the W600i. It doesn't matter how much memory the ROKR has... It's limited to 100 songs only by firmware. The W600i has no such restriction, although you can't expand the memory, so you're limited to only 256 MB.

I'll agree that the W810 is better. I was just giving my take between the 2 phones bearwithphone originally asked about.

An upgraded Firmware for the Rokr is just that. Someone went into it, Changed some seem edits around, Played with Itunes & voila you have a thousand song limit or higher then that. Who needs over 1000 songs on their cell?

If Price isn't an Option I want a Nokia N93

thanks - i ended up getting a V3 in black and a matching ipod nano, i may get a SLVR but likely won't at the end of the summer.

now i want to get a ruggedized candy bar phone for hiking and when travelling.
