Rocky Horror being remade

I can't believe how spooky this is. Last week I said to my family that it was due a remake, and its been announced today.

So, who to cast?
If they can afford him, surely, whilst I can't stand him, Zac Efron should be a shoe-in for Brad. No better way than getting rid of that Disney image than having a six foot tall man dressed as a woman with a green medical gown on having his wicked way with him.

Or would that be too close to home? :D

I don't know if it's a good idea. I don't think anyone can top Tim Curry's performance. I really cannot picture anyone as Riff Raff either.

Zac Efron?? Is he not a little too young to play Brad. I don't know how old he is supposed to be but i thought he was mid to late 20s.

Even Richard O'Brien says no......

"I'm not co-producing it and I won't be involved in any way. The first I heard about it was when people sent me cuttings from US papers"

How bad is that, you`d have thought they would at least have let him know or at least asked for his ideal cast or something.......

"I have no view on whether it should be remade but it doesn't have my blessing,"

That to me says it all, he modernised, slightly the last stage version, and if asked I suppose he`d have done the same with this.
But this new found, we must remake everything, thats going on in Hollywood is typical. They dont consult anyone involved in the originals...... look what happend to Simon Pegg with the, now failed Spaced remake.

Give it a while and I bet R'OB will be on board.
I'm all for it, theres room for remakes in this world, and I think Rocky neeRAB it. Unfortunately Tim Curry is too old to play Frank now, but I think he'd be great as the narrator.

The original feels incredibly dated. I think a remake with an expanded cast of Transylvanian's, that feels a little less cheap could be brilliant, but its gonna be hard to cast.

I don't think the original feels dated at all, that's the style of the film, no need for a remake especially a cheap as chips MTV/SKY version, can't see any 'names' attaching themselves to this.

Exactly what I thought. But it will still be shit. Why make a remake of something only 30 years old? And what are all the moviegoers supposed to shout out when Brad says "I'm glad we caught you at home, Could we use your phone, We're both in a bit of a hurry. We'll just say where we are, then go back to the car"?

We all want to f**k Johnny Depp?

Nah, his surname has to rhyme with worry for that work.

Ah yeah sorry forgot this little gem too

The new film will have its UK premiere on the Sky Movies channel.

So not even a cinema release....... stops a press release about crowRAB of fans getting together and possibly walking out if its that bad.

Maybe

This is all wrong!

Rock Horror is a cult classic and still fantastic to watch after almost 30 years, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Rocky Horror is one of my favourite movies and I will certainly be giving the remake a miss!

No! No! NO!!!!

This is a BAD idea. Tim Curry will ALWAYS be Frank for starters. Why remake it? What can they add or say that is new about it?

When I read this yesterday I was actually glad that we cancelled our Sky Movies package last month.

Please, don't do it!

No way could anyone ever replace Tim Curry. He was fantastic. I just think this has disaster written all over it. And adding new songs...how can you add new songs? Why not just reshow the original. I bet it would still make money.

This is a cult classic, it captures the energy of the time and still looks and sounRAB good today.
They haven`t remade The Sound of Music, Westside Story or Oliver, they don`t need remaking.
Saw a newer version of Jesus Christ Superstar the other week...... it was poor, especially Rik Mayall.
Could be the fact we remember the original or the one we original saw first as the best.... like BonRAB maybe?
