Rocky and Rambo

It would be silly for Sly to do another Rocky. I mean, he'll be in his mid-60's if that does happen. Can you really see him boxing as he's done so in his previous Rockys ? (even though he's in great shape for his age, might I add).

Rambo, on the other hand...hmmm... yep, distinct possibility.

I hope they use the unused original script for 'Rambo' for the next one. Rambo goes to Mexico to rescue the daughter of his housekeeper (Sly mentions it on the making of's), it would make sense now that Rambo has finally returned home.

He should definitely leave Rocky alone now though, the last one was probably the best since the first film, and the ending was perfect so i'd hate to see him return to the character and cock it up by making another Rocky V...

I'm afraid it was. I chuckled when he said it. I've thought that ever since first seeing it in the theater back in 1990.

Before I had seen it, I regarded Rocky IV as a flawed film, but one which still worked overall.

Rocky V missed the mark so badly, it made Rocky IV obtain a quality comparable to the original classic.

Yeah, but 0? I mean, it has a soundtrack, a script, proper actors. It deserves at least a one, Shirley?

It wasn't "Gangs of New York" bad, was it?

Was it?

I think the next Rambo should be set in America with Rambo going after terrorists in the same way he went for the police in the first Rambo.

Rocky V makes Gangs of New York look like Goodfellas in comparison.

Stallone's performance in the film is laughable bad. It's practically self parody.

The script is ridiculous. It has more plot holes than an open field full of land mines.

The songs (outside of the not so bad Elton John song) are incredibly poor.

As for the musical score, it was just another recycling by Bill Conti of his famous original.

I'm with Sly on the 0 rating, wholeheartedly.

I got all the films separately to avoid even owning the fifth film. I'm not the type who will possess a box set when it means owning a film which is so poor, it makes Cobra look like Oscar material.

Say it ain't so. I need to watch it again then, to make my mind up. It HAS been a while since I saw it. Can I borrow it from your box-set? ;)

I agree with most of you, but there is scope for another.

Can't think of the name now, but I would like to see Rocky train that kid up (amateur boxer in film) and he takes over rockys place.
