I'm going to be building a small external audio setup and I've narrowed my sub choices down to:
-1 x Rockford Fosgate P3 15"
-OR-
-2 x MTX Jackhammer JH-55 12"
The setup is going to have a sufficient amp depending on what sub (or subs) I end up going with. I'm also going to have two 6-1/2" speakers for mids and (some) highs in this setup. I'm not looking for the perfect sounding setup, as this will only be used on special occasions, so I just need something that bumps pretty good. Regarding the types of music I'll be listening to with these, pretty much all genres will be listened to, but will probably be dominated by 1990's hip hop and rap (west coast stuff mostly
).
So considering the two Jackhammers would put out about 800w RMS, compared to the P3's 600w RMS, would they hit THAT much harder? Would a single P3 sound better overall being a 15" (hitting lower lows/deeper bass) compared to two 12"s?
Thanks in advance, and I'm also open to any OTHER suggestions for subs that you may have.
