Rock 'n' Rolla

Rented "Lock Stock....." on video.

Watched half. Dreadful

Saw "Snatch" with frienRAB - we were going to see a film, I was outvoted.

Would have walked out otherwise.

It was like someone at University doing a film making course was let out for the first time with a camera and a bad script. The best acting on show was from Mike Reid so........

I shall give this a wide berth.

If you want a British gangster film rent Get Carter, The Long Good Friday or similar.

Did this flick even have a plot?

& the characters were all ciphers.

Layer Cake is the best Guy Ritchie film & that was directed by his producer.

He should pack it in & just be Madonna's child minder.

Layer Cake is not a Guy Ritchie film.

Compared to Lock Stock and Snatch, Layer Cake is poor. People think it's a Guy Ritchie film because Matthew Vaughan worked on it, and because it was marketed as in the same vain as Ritchie's films. They even gave it a yellow colour on the poster and on the DVD case, because that's the same colour of Lock Stock and Snatch's boxes.

Saw RocknRolla last night and thought it was decent comedy crime caper, though have to agree with Mark Kermode about the whole Mockney thing getting a bit old

Movie had a few very funny scenes which had most of cinema audience laughing and was stylishly shot too so would give it 7/10

Layer Cake is my favourite British gangster movie of the last decade- i really enjoyed its much darker social commentary and it had the excellent Daniel "007" Craig as lead which helped too!

Saw it today, was alrite.
The humour in it is what saves the movie.
As far as london gangster movies go, its not gritty or sexy enough, its pretty bland throughout.
Not a bad movie, but nothing special about it.
