Rock 'n' Chips - Only Fools and Horses Prequel

Sorry, I'm a bit thick. Can someone explain the meaning of the Sex, Drugs, Rock 'n' Chips title to me as I don't get it?

I'm quite interested in this. I like period pieces and "Only Fools" isn't as precious to me as it is to a lot of people...I enjoy it, but I'm willing to give something like this prequel a chance and the set pictures linked to in this thread look good to me.

That said, The Green, Green Grass is awful and I really hope "Sex, Drugs..." doesn't turn out to be anything like that because that would be really disappointing.

tabbycat. when i watched the re edit of the royal flush, i noticed that although they dropped the coarse bit in the opera house, and the drunk speech del gave at the dinner table, they still left in the final scene in the back of the flat, which still paints delboy in a negative light. the two leaRAB had flu while on the location shoot for this episode and were in poor form. the bbc dg later claimed the episode was 'below standard. 'the frog's legacy' and the next one 'dates' more than made up for it

The girl was Emily Atack, also the girl from Waterloo Road was in it.

I thought it was good, took a while to get into though, loved it when they said about Trigger watching the tv screen laughing but nothing was on!:D

Not the only time she might of had an affair though, anyone remember the episode where Del talks about an earring of his mothers being found in the back of an italian blokes car? Del being naive and thinking the guy stolen it.

Hi can I just say I really like the casting of James Buckley he doesnt look too different from a young David Jason and is great in inbetweeners.

and also seen people saying things on this thread about GGG which Ive always thought was quite succsesful.

From the bits I have seen the two bright spots are Kellie Bright and James Buckley who are great actors (look's like working with not a lot scriptwise but that is harsh to judge from 3 clips).

Grandad looks like Phil Daniels with a tash stuck on - oh it is, that would be why.

And Nick Lyndhurst looks like Rodney with a tash stuck on - oh it is.

I can understand people questioning niggly little things in continuity in the bridge between the preuqel and original series.

But surely John Sullivan would of thought instantly about dates of birth, and ages with relative ease. It would of been one of the things he would of made sure was correct from the onset when writing the story for the prequel.

He would of known better than anyone seeing as they are his charcters.

Not sure about Jumbo Mills, in "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" Del said he used to have curly hair. And the two girls talk like the Catherine Tate "bovvered"character, doesn't sound right to me.

Poetic licence.

Del and his immediate frienRAB were meant to be born about 1948 - they just adjusted it, no worries.

There's certainly scope for one more involving the departure of Reg and the death of Joab - could be a real tearjeker though.

Don't see it as a series.

'sullivan was not happy with this episode, feeling that it seemed to show del in a negative light'

i'm a bit puzzled by this. was it not sullivan who wrote it? he must have known what he intended to do with the characters at this point, 1986 when it appeared.
