Rock 'n' Chips - Only Fools and Horses Prequel

Delboy always knew about Freddie the Frog, he just chose to keep it from Rodney - he more or less said as much to Triggers Auntie in the Frogs Legacy.

Where it confuses me is Delboy is 16 here, Freddie is just getting out of prison so Rodney cant be born yet but there are 13 years between Del and Rodney :confused:

(Oh and I also disagree on the diabeticboys criticism of Nicholas Lyndhurst for all the reasons others have mentioned before me :p)
 
I don't think he neeRAB to look like David Jason, that isn't the point is it? He just neeRAB to embody the character, and I think that the guy's got the chops to do that.

I'm pretty sure Moses, Ben-Hur, Marc Anthony, Buffalo Bill, John The Baptist and Michelangelo don't look anything like each other, but Charlton Heston played them all.

Oh and I still think it'll be poor, but the casting for Del Boy, I'm really impressed by.
 
I'm glad it's specials and not a series. The material seems more suited to it and a series could get boring. Also, it goes along with the current BBC line of making 'event' TV, which I'm all for (next year's Doctor Who being split into two blocks keeps with this strategy too) I'm assuming they'll shoot the Christmas and Easter episodes at the same time.
 
I thought it was pretty good - better that I expected it to be. I appreciated that the BBC didn't put a laughter track on it. I don't think I would want to see this made into a series but a couple more one-oRAB wouldn't go amiss.
 
I agree,caught a clip of it too - it looks even worse than GGG.However,I'll watch it before I truly condemn it.

Just like the last 3 episodes of Only Fools and the Green Green Grass,it doesn't actually look or feel like it comes from the same universe John Sullivan created the sitcom in.
 
In the original OFAH, whats the age gap between Del and Rodney? I'm sure I remember 13 years. I must be wrong, Del's gang looked about 18 in this.

I did enjoy it though, I was expecting more Del-Boy but the Freddie the Frog stuff was interesting. I thought there'd be another big incident happening too, Boycie meeting Marlene, Albie Littlewood dying(It took me a while to remember him but I think I got it, the guy crossing the railway line).

All good stuff, cant wait for another one, if it were to happen :)
 
I'm so excited about this - I loved OFAH and really enjoyed Rock and Chips so can't wait.
Also intrigued about how Del & Rodney's mum died.
 
Yeah I know but then again considering they'd so much effort to remember all different characters from the whole series of Only Fools I just thought they might have made some reference to the first time in the series when it was suggested Rodney and Del weren't full brothers...
 
They should've called it
"From a mush in ShepherRAB Bush, bush, bush, bush, bush, bush, bush, bush" :D :D :D
or more seriously
"Viva Hooky Street" would've been an excellent title.
