Rock 'n' Chips - Only Fools and Horses Prequel

Talk about jobs for the boys!! just cos Freddie the Frog is rodney's dad don't mean he have to look exactly like him

gonna have to seriously suspend belief to believe Del's mum fancies this Freddie character!

Well, this is a date to note, the date you and me both enjoyed the same programme! ;)

I liked the way that, as well as putting in the obvious characters, the less well-known characters like Jumbo Mills and Albie Littlewood (Del's "bestest friend in all the world") were remembered.

I think a laughter track would have ruined it, I thought it was actually wonderfully dark. The humour was mixed with a lot of awkwardness and discomfort reflecting the kind of life that Joan had.

Also enjoyed it as a period piece as my family were from Peckham/Camberwell. The tube station they were at was Borough, which they probably would have got to by train or bus!

Bad thing!!

I had a right thing thing for her years back spesh when she was in the Upper Hand. and before anyone says she was about 12 then.....so was I!!!!

Green Green Grass is written by different writers, John Sullivan has only written a few.

Also John Sullivan has done a prequel before with Just Good FrienRAB which was superb, so I've got high hopes for this.

And before anyone slags it off for not being funny, it is a comedy drama, which is mainly drama with a few laughs in.

I really liked it too.
Hope it does get made into a series at some point, with some tweaks though. But keeping it like a drama. I'd like to see some more of Del growing up and his relationship with his Dad.

If it doesn't get made though, its good we've seen how things started.

Well it is 60's east-london. They all sounded like that!
And I don't think its meant to be like OFAH. It's more of a spin off to it, showing you how the characters started out.
This is much better. Its better than Green Green Grass, which people seemed to think this would of been.

My gut reaction is "bad idea" but I will be interested to see how easily they cast a young Del and a young Rodney - not to mention Grandad and Uncle Albert. Will be a tough search for them methinks.
