I know of many that exist now, but Ive got my eye clamped on one: Mad Catz MIDI Pro Adapter

This is because it is cheaper than the J5 drum brain. However, I am not sure exactly what it can do. It appears to have an MIDI connection interface (though full view images are hard to come by). But, is it really that easy? Can you just plug in whatever E-kit you have via its standard MIDI interface and play? How does it determine which cymbals and toms go with their respective colors? What if you have more than three cymbals and/or four toms; does that make a difference? What would be the difference between this and the J5? Does it allow for E-kit bass trigger with no modification? If this is not what I need, what do I need?
