Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

I like Red Hot Chili Peppers.. kinda. They remind me of the 90s which is always a plus. Californication brings back a lot of memories. I liked that stuff more than uh.. Dani California? Maybe because wikipedia tells me they incorporated "themes of lust, death, contemplations of suicide, and drugs". Yeah that's right up my alley :clap:
 
There are alot of things i would like to say to the ones that run the hall of fame. While most of the people that are inducted to the H.O.F. There are also alot that I do not know. I'm cool with not knowing every single band out there. As I scanned the list because of this list to see who all exactly is in the H.O.F. As i was reading through the names I seen a couple that left me scratching my head.

The first one up to plate is artist Ritchie valens which was inducted in 2007.
Recording career only lasted 8 months. He is also credited to have been the pioneer and forefather of CHICANO rock movement. And he may well be the person they give credit being. But I often wonder if the crash played a role on him getting inducted. I like his music but I just can't see it as H.O.F material. I would be glad if someone change my mind on this idea.

The next one up to plate is artist R.E.M which was inducted in 2007.
I just can't stand the band. That's all I have to say about them.

Next up to plate is the band "THE BEE GEES". They were inducted in 1997. I guess I can't stand disco is why I'm scratching my head on this one.

In 1991 the band Ike and Tina Turner were inducted into the H.O.F. Are you freaking kidding me. I wonder who Ike had to slap to get this. Anyone have any idea why they truly deserve this. Then please educate me on this debacle.

Anyone disagrees with me is more then welcome to educate me and let me see the light within this idea.

I don't think there's that fine a line. What they play on the radio today is not Rock and Roll and the closest thing I've seen recently is is the Foxboro Hottubs. Otherwise I've not heard anything thats reasonably close.
 
Any opinions on the nominee list for 2010 for H.O.F?

The 2010 nominees for the performers category were announced on Septeraber 23, 2009. Five inductees will be announced in January 2010, and inducted at a ceremony in New York on March 15.[90]

ABBA's probably being inducted because they're the best selling band of all time. I think KISS deserve to get in as well, they were/are goRAB to a lot of people. For the most part though, I don't really pay that much attention to the Hall of Fame myself because it's mostly music I don't enjoy all that much. Besides, if we're being honest here, having a bunch of musicians choose who belongs is a horrible way to do it. You'll end up with a hall of fame filled with banRAB like Dinosaur Jr, The Pixies, Pavement, Guided By Voices, and the likes. Don't get me wrong, that would be really cool, but I think Hall of Fame is something meant to appeal to the popular people; a band that's become not just famous but legendary and had a huge impact on popular music that lots of people listen to. Just my opinion though.
 
getting pissed off at a hall of fame is like getting pissed off at your dog for licking its balls, it's gonna happen whether you like it or not.


kind of nuts to see the chili peppers up there, really surprised Genesis and KISS aren't already in, especially in Genesis' case.
