RoboCop

What the f*ck?! Who the bleeding Hell gave this one the green light?! I seriously despair sometimes.

This is quite possibly the most needless & cynical cash-in remake EVER! Sigh of sighs.

The Original is an undeniable Classic! Has a highly respectable 7.5/10 on IMDB. Which ain't all that far shy of getting onto the top 250 Films.

Here's hoping this pointless Rehash never actually comes to fruition!

I just hope that it gets shown in full uncut style with an 18 rating.

Robocop 3 was only watchable for the lovely Jill Hennessy & don't even mention the TV series along with the Prime Directive movies

Oh.... my... God.... what have they done?!?! AARRGGHH! . There are so many things wrong with that poster I won't even begin to tell you now, I'm just so ANGRY just looking at it!

Paddy :mad::mad::mad:

Gaaaah, what next? Fast Times At Ridgemont High 2 with the kiRAB from the previous film being teachers at the school?!

Wonder who will be playing Robocop... Jason Statham? :o

No, Just no.

The first film is a classic, everything that came after was terrible beyond description.

The only chance this remake has of being even half decent is if they get Paul Verhoeven involved again.

God no! What the hell?! This is WRONG on so many levels!

Why do they feel the need to masacre such a classic film!
If it ain't broke don't try to fix it as they say.
They're gonna' destroy such a classic film which such a shoddy (presumably!) remake!

It's getting to be a bit of a tradition each time news of yet another remake appears but why?

(PS I know the answer - it is because film companies are no longer owned by filmmakers but by pen pushing accountants who think they will make more money rehashing an old format, rather than taking a risk on new talent)

the problem is people will say i'll just watch it to see how it compares with the original and that will end up generating more money than they spent to make it and so the studios will think they have done good again.

I didn't think there were really any bad effects anyway. Ok maybe they could tid this up a bit with CGI but will that make this film any better than the original, the answer is no.

i remember in the hollywood glory years there was such a thing as believing in the magic of cinema. Things didn't look as good as real life in the 30s when someone got shot it was a puff of smoke and then someone held their side and died. It wasn't real or even remotely real but does that mean Casablanca or Big Sleep are rubbish films. Of course not because you are hooked by the storyline. I believe in the magic of the cinema so any errors or bad effects are ok as I can look beyond that to the artistry of the film itself

Why remake a movie that is a awesome classic as it is and it still dont seem old when you watch it today.

Will be very intresting to watch the remake but it does not need doing really as the original is awesome and it will noway be as good as the original

I can see it now... Robocop 12 rated.

How would they shoot the famous scene of him getting shot to pieces. They wouldn't even be allowed to show something like that in a 15's.

Leave this classic alone for the love of god.

It definitely won't be the same if they tone down the violence to get a 15 certificate. Part of what makes the original so memorable is just how brutal it is. Murphy's death and the bloke shot to pieces in the office building really shook me up when I was younger.

Will go down as one of the most unnecessary remakes ever.

I have not seen Robocop in ages but I'd be surprised if something so nihilistic, dark and (realistic) violent has dated much in 20 years.
Not too keen on the sequels though so instead of a remake why not just make a belated sequel.
