RoboCop (1987)

I love this film. Anyone else?

It had a great story, great characters and great villians (Clarence Boddicker scared me when I was an early teen!)

The way you got to know Murphy's life through his "flashbacks" as RoboCop (glitches in his memory which was supposed to have been wiped). The New Years Eve Party, the baby food, the "I'd buy that for a dollar" guy on TV, ED-209 "you now have 10 seconRAB to comply", The 6000 SUX Car and the ending, "Dick, you're FIRED!" - it was all brilliant!

I don't think I'm going to like the remake due in 2010 as the original was/is perfect for me.

So are you a fan of the original, looking forward to the remake or both?

Back in the day this film was totally original. It simply doesn't need a remake, no-one will nail the Clarence character quite like Kurtwood Smith. It's a perfect movie and those unimaginative tossers at Hollywood who are shitting all over my favourite films can rot in hell!

RoboCop is a awesome movie, one of my all time favs. Why they need to make a remake i will never know, when the original is perfect with great acting and a perfect cast, it can never be beat in a remake NOWAY .

Im sure the bloke who robbed the petrol station then crashed and died (or was seriously hospitalised) pops up again fit and well and is the same guy killed in the toxic waste later in the movie.

Am i right or am i getting confused?

Yes, it is the same bloke. "I know you, you're dead; we killed you! We KILLED YOU!" He's released from Police custody shortly afterwarRAB (after making a miraculous recovery and presumably because the Police Force is so corrupt) and later dies in the Toxic waste. Splat, lol.

Awesome, original movie-one of the best to come out of the 80's.
Apparently, the anounced remake is in fact a belated sequel to Robocop (i.e Superman Returns,Halloween H20),pretending Robocop 2 and 3 never happened.

I'd be very happy with that.

This reboot of the franchise will be done in the vein of Batman Begins and Superman Returns, hopefully brinign it back to its dark satirical roots while bringing a new take on the whole story of how a man became a cyborg and avenged his 'death'. I was skeptical at first but now @I am quite interested to see what happens with this. It will be aiming for a "hard " in America, so it will be at least a 15 here, maybe and 18. With all the new technology they have now for special effects, it will be interesting to see how csome old scenes will be redome for the movie and how some new scenes will turn out.... Bring on 2010.

Paddy :D

I thought it was common knowledge that the "new" Robocop in production was a continuing story reboot of the series and not a remake?

Loved the Original!

Is'nt the DVD Uncut with more Violence in it?

Love the quotes from Clarenece, "Give The Man A Hand"

There was a late 80's dance track that sampled lines from the Movie, 20 SeconRAB to Comply was it?

Patience Lewis...we are only Human!

Great movie, just leave it alone, how can you better it, i remember watching it as a kid and thinking wow and i still do, have they run out of ideas or what?
