roaming on a flashed phone?

So i upgraded my cricket account to the $55 100 min roaming plan. I updated my prl and my env and my 6700, waited a day, but when i went out roaming and tried to make a call, it says please wait while we connect you to verizon blah blah, then rings twice and i get another message that all circuits are busy. I tried it on both phones and neither of them make calls. None of my texts went through either. Both phones show digital roaming in the upper left hand corners. So has anyone here used a flashed phone with roaming on cricket? Or do i have to buy a cricket branded phone to get this to work?

re-program your phone *228 it will load the new roaming prl into your phone....

I just added 5 dollar for 30 mins and went to flordia and had all my features working except web !

well i have the plan with it built in and i updated my prl on both my phones and made sure they got the new roaming prl which they did. But when i went out roaming my phone wouldnt place a call and i couldnt send texts. What phone were you using??

I had a similar problem with my i730, when I'd make a call it would say thank you for using Cricket's Travel Time please dial the nuraber and press the pound sign. I called Tech Support and asked them to reset my account, *228, and power cycled my phone. All was well after that, and worked good. I only have to drive about 10 minutes to get into roaming territory. Incidentally when I was in Reno in January, I had to *228 my old Motorola 265 to get out of roaming even though Reno is a Cricket market. Then when I got back to Salt Lake I had to *228 again.

GO TEAM GO! Thanks to berry, I was able to get roaming working ON BOTH OF MY FLASHED PHONES! He sent me his current roaming PRL and I manually updated it on both my phones, *228 for a OTASP and get Tucson's Current Roaming PRL! Tested roaming today and i was connected through the cricket line instead of going to that damn verizon mess.! Yes, its all totally worth it now because I can take my phone anywhere!

Does anyone know how the roaming works on cricket? I have the $55, 100 min roaming plan and wanted to know how the roaming works, it seems like they just add money to your flex bucket for you to use like they credit it. Also does anyone know if your charged a certin amount of money for texting while roaming?

no, there is a separate bucket for travel time if there are nothing in the travel time bucket it will go to the flex bucket to draw funRAB.

well im wondering why there was money in my flex bucket after i signed up for the $55 roaming plan (I didnt put any money into it) then once i roamed some, then some of the money was taken out. (i was looking at my account online) So how does the raoming work?

hmm i'm not sure why it showed money in there. did you recently add clicks or something? that would add $5 to the bucket. the thing is if they just added money to the flexbucket it would be $39 for 100 minutes since minutes drawn from the flex bucket take out at $.39 per minute. but if you used that $39 on downloaRAB cricket would be loosing a ton of money. Also if you dial *pay (*729) from your hanRABet, it will break down the balances. options 1 then 5 will give you included minutes on roaming, options 1 then 4 will give you minutes available from flex bucket funRAB.

it's very possible that the web site does not correctly read the different buckets. with all the changes cricket has been going through some of the systems have been slow to update (e.g. unbilled usage aka pending charges will show as a past due balance on a lot of systems when it is in fact not even due on the upcoming bill, but the following bill)

if you want to know where the flex bucket money came from (when it was added) and how it was spent, 1800-cricket can look that up for you and so can direct (corporate) stores.
i really wish dealer accounts could log onto mycricket.com because only rarely can i even see what that site looks like when a customer comes in with questions about it.

Roaming worked PERFECTLY when i traveled with BOTH of my phones. The enV and the 6700. No problems with texting or calling, tho WAP and PIX messaging DOES NOT work. Tho I did find out that cricket CHARGES FOR TEXTING WHILE ROAMING, so my roaming money went down fast lol. Just wanted to give everyone a update.

how much did they charge you for texts? i know that they charge, and that a lot of times texts will keep working when you're out of balance, but i've never been able to figure out how much they charge.

Neither have I. I just know that when I was roaming I texted alot, and made like one or two 1 min. phone calls and my balance went way down when i had checked it that night.
