Roaming Issue

i tested the phone and when i dial a nuraber it says im in american roaming network and only credit card calls are allowed. did i do somthing wrong? the prl i have loaded on my storage card is 1040.prl standard. i saw another one on this site 1050.prl evdo. should i be using the evdo one instead? i feel like im getting closer to be able to use my mogul with cricket.

Just upload the 1050....you may need to reload your ROM if a new PRL does not work.

If you get the american roaming network it means your PRL isn't loaded properly. That or your SID is wrong.

no i didnt call cricket. it will let me call *228 and it is cricket. is that what i need to do? i didnt set up the MMS yet once i get it activated will be able to go back and set it up?

Before you can go any further, call Cricket and let them know that you need to switch service to a new phone. If they ask what type of phone it is, tell them it's a Razr. When they tell you some services might not work, let them know that that's fine but to leave those services on your account still.

After that phone call, you should be able to make/receive calls and texts.

if you get cricket on *228 then you can activate it with 611. if you get american roaming on *228 then you didnt program your phone correctly.

you get american roaming network also if your min / mdn is not set right. when i flash phone it will say american roaming until i load a min / mdn pair (does not have to be for that esn) then 611 will send me to cricket instead.
