roaming in canada

im going to be in canada for 3 weeks starting next week, and im realizing that its going to cost me a butt load to use my berry while im there... 70cents a min to call back to the US and $10/1mb of data usage. i run through about 6megs of data a month, and ill need to continue calling the US...

i know when travelling to Europe, one can purchase a sim card to use in an unlocked phone for better rates there... does anyone know if the same can be done for our frigid friend to the north?
 
pardon my french-canadian, but holy crap... 500mb is excessive for me... im just a wee bis user with the email load of a med student...

so how do i go about securing a sim card so i dont incur overwhelming roaming charges for talk time?
 
~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~how long have you had t-mobile service. If you had it for 90 days they'll unlock ur bb and ud get a pre paid sim. If u go to canada you can get a pre paid sim and phone.
