Roadkill

What everyone think about this film? I caught it last night and even thogh some of the plot was weak it was quite good and Paul Walker is fine.

I got it on a Canadian region one DVD really cheaply a few years ago. It's known as Joy Ride in most parts of the world. It's a fairly decent thriller, although it does rip-off quite a lot of The Hitcher and Duel, and turns them into a teen style horror.

It's one of those films that as you're watching it, you know that it's crap, but you get totally sucked in and then actually end up quite liking it.

That's what happened to me, anyway!

Yeah, it's not bad and it definately rips off an awful lot of ideas from elsewhere. I have to say that I quite enjoyed watching it the first time at the cinema, although over the years the film hasn't aged all that well; seeing it again about 8 months ago was slightly tiresome by the end.

It is official that The Hitcher is getting a remake last time I heard, but apparently they are changing the lead to a female role instead of the boy(can't remember the actor's name).

I did actually quite enjoy Roadkill last night.

Plllleeassee dont say they are remaking the Hitcher

I saw it years ago when it first came out and thought it was brilliant. Why oh why do they have to go and remake the classics? They only end up ruining them..

The Hitcher's a fab movie, you never know the remake might work (but no chance will it be as good as the original). Didn't C Thomas Howell make a sequel to The Hitcher a few years back?

Roadkill's great, it was the first film i saw out of that whole teen horror phase that actually scared me. I dont mind derivative films so much, as long as they're good. I prefer the name 'Roadkill' to 'Joyride' as well, suits the film better.

Would post a link to an interview on my site with the director, writer and dvd producer of The Hitcher, but don't think it's allowed on these forums. It was carrier out in late 2003 but they said there was no plans to remake it but since Hitcher II was made without them knowing, there's always the chance.

That's who that was!! It's been bugging me since I saw this film last night.

Liked the film anyway, despite myself, it's made by the same bloke that made the Last Seduction.

WEll I heard about the plans for a remake this year. So might be on again, hopefully I am wrong.

HEard the Hitcher 2 was a load of rubbish anyway.

I enjoy this film it is so good and enjoyable, it has got lots of action and less talking which thats what i love about films. I saw it on BBC the other night and it was brill, the scene when they get to the motel, and then they hear this guy next door to them get killed really scared me, very creepy. Good entertaining movie that should never have a sequel.
