I'm wanting to buy a road bike. I'm 6'5, and weigh at most, 250 lbs. So I'm looking for something in the 60~62cm height range. I'm also wanting to spend around $300. It's my first bike, and I don't want to go all out. I also don't want to get single/fixed gear. I noticed that 21 speed aluminum bikes have a more realistic price, than any steel bike I've been able to find.
My only concern is weight capacity. I have read different opinions, but I'm not sure, because the cases I've read, include guys who weigh at least 30 pounds more than I, and are also shorter.
So the question I'm really wanting to ask, will Aluminum be able to handle me, or am I going to have to go with Steel?
