Rizoma grips vs. OEM

Not much. I had it done by a friend who is a machinist so the cut was nice and clean and straight. I can measure it from the stock clip ons when I get home tonight but looks like about 1/2 inch not more.
As I mentioned in my earlier post, if you have large hands, this shortened clip on will make your hand hit the fairing when you go lock to lock (like when parking or moving the bike around in the garage). They are very comfy especially with the heavy long bar end weights, no uncomfortable vibes/tingling anymore.
Good buy!

received the grips today. You are right, the grips is shorter compare with stock grips.

Call the dealership and they can cut the clips-on to make it fit. Problem solved.

$155 for grips? $59 for end caps? Those end caps don't cost more than maybe $10 a set to manufacture. Grips cost between $10 and $25 if you want the fancy ones from Renthal, Answer, Scott, Galindo, Pro-Grip, etc., etc. Apparently, some customers are sending someone's kids to Oxford University, or Stanford or something. $155? That's a tire. And we all know how much we spend on tires.

Is there are real reason to spend that kind of money on grips? Do they work better? Are they more durable? Is it an image thing?

A set of Cycle Cat clip-ons are about $330. I can't believe you would cut hard parts, that you can't put back on without buying new ones, to put on grips.

I don't mean any disrespect, but I wonder if someone would explain this to me.

Modifications:Leo Vince pipes (LOUD, LOUD, LOUD), a bunch of carbon accessories, handle bar mounts, off road style handlebars, Race Tech fork mods, Ohlins shock with remote hydraulic adjuster.

With the heavier bar ends they take away a lot of vibration and help on long rides. Regards the price? Well everything you buy nowadays contains a certain %age for R & D, marketing, promoting the brand and general overhead recovery. Fact of life. They could turn out any old shite without bothering to see if it works or fits but then Rizoma wouldn't be Rizoma.
