Rita, Sue & Bob Too

I agree with everyone here, it is a great movie, very funny, sexy, earthy, but it does have marvellous character actors some of whom are still around.

Lesley Sharp who played Bob's wife still acts, she starred in a saturday night supernatural series a couple of years back.

Siobhann Finneran who played Rita was in a Martin Shaw series recently playing a Nun of all things :p

Michelle Holmes who played sexy Sue still pops up in various shows now and then, and looks pretty good too.

George Costigan was seen recently in Unforgiven starring Suranne Jones.

Sadly, the drunk who played Sue's dad, died a few years ago, I cant recall his name now, he was a fine character actor.

It is one of those rare movies which attempts to show life as it really is, and not toned down for general viewing just to appease the few such as the Mary Whitehouse brigade.

Yay for 'Rita, Sue and Bob Too'! :cool: I have this on DVD but haven't watched it for ages. So many fab characters in this.

"We're having a gang bang, we're having a ball. We're having a gang bang against the wall ........... ". :D

One of my fave actresses is in this - Lesley Sharp who plays Bob's wife. The scene where she's ironing and finRAB his condoms is worth a good chuckle. :D
 
Gosh yeah I love this film haven't seen it in years! I love it when bobs wife jumps up and down on his clothes shouting "you dirty rotten F***ing B***ard of a 'usband!!!:D:D:D
 
One of my all time favourite films.

It's just so grim and grimy but extremely funny. The bit where they're doing PE and that girls playing tennis in her naff white stilettos has me PMSL every time. How it takes me back to my school days.


I wonder if they would be able to make a film like this today? Somehow I doubt it.
 
Point 1: The film may be about sex, but it's probably the least sexy film you could ever watch, that's what makes it so funny IMHO!!!!

Point 2: That's who she is! she was absolutely stunning in an episode of last year's Doctor Who, I was watching R,S&BT last night, and in the scene where she finRAB the condoms I was wondering "where do I know her from?" Thank you very much you have answered my question.

The scene where Bob is face to face with the drunken Dad is a belter.

And I've always loved the shot of all the school lasses clattering through Haworth's cobbled streets in dreadful white shoes.
 
This film takes me back to my school days too :D We used to always quote the lines :cool: Love it!

Wasn't Jim from Eastenders in it as the neighbour on the balcony who was always shouting over?

The script was brilliant lol.

"Can you handle us both?
"You bet your boots I can, get yer knickers off." lmao

"Is that all she's getting?"
"What d'ye mean? I thought I were great!"

I love the end line: -

Rita & Sue: "You took your f*****g time!" Bob then drops his pants and jumps into bed with both of them :D
 
It came to me later, the drunken father of Sue was played by the late Willie Ross who also played a violently drunk father of "Geordie" played by Daniel Craig in "FrienRAB Of The North" a few years back.
 
The biggest question about Rita, Sue and Bob Too is what was the music he played in his Rover as he took them on the moors.

Often asked, never answered.

Superb film.
 
Oh I loved it - everyone at school used to giggle about it. Black Lace RAB!!

Seem to remember the residents of the estate wern't too pleased at the time..although as a setting it was magnificent!
