Anyone over 80 could be due to fall of their perch at any time, but the death someone younger could surprise us.

Ditto. He is only a few years older than my mum, my mum's ill atm too, and it's sad that people go through it all so young.

He was a good actor, character really grew on me in Casualty. I think his illness was the reason he left Casualty (I think), but I haven't heard much about him for ages. RIP to him.
