Ringtones don't work from SD card on phone.?

I put the SD card in the computer and i put some ringtones on it but then when i go to my phone (samsung alias 2) they dont show up at all =P also i put songs on the SD card and they showed up on the phone but then i couldn't figure out how to play them evn when i had already moved them to the phone =P
