I want to from the beginging say I have not got a problem with 3d films, if people like them and want to see them good for them. I don't want to re-hash everything we have all said about 3D films but I have just read about a new "ring" film that is apperently going to be made into a 3D movie.
Now I haven't seen the US versions of "ring", don't see the point, I loved the originals too much but it seems to me making the 3rd into a 3D movie just ruins what the original was about. The thing I loved and what made it so creepy was that there was virtually no budget to it. It didn't need special effects so it didn't bother with them. I can't help but feel making a film like this into a 3D movie is just trying to jump onto the cash cow that is 3D and the makers are forgetting what made "Ringu", "Halloween", "The Blair Witch Project" and countless others so great, these films worked in my oppinion because of their simplicity and I am starting to get the feeling a lot of films makers are starting to forget what makes good horror great.
