i have just purchased a 98 ford explorer with 5.0 engine,i purchased aftermarket wheels and and rotors for a nissan 96-98 maxima, but never put them on the maxima.i know the bolt pattern is the same 5x114.3 or 5x4.5,my thinking,i might be able to put the same rims and rotors i was gonna use for the maxima on the explorer, does anyone think this will work or am i dreaming?

Highly unlikely! The truck is designed to carry and tow more weight than a Maxima, it will therefore have larger brakes to stop that weight and larger wheels to make room for those brakes.

The rims maybe. if they fit with the bolt pattern. but you need to check to see if they rub on the caliper on the front or on the drum in the rear. Now the rotors wont work, even if they ore the same bolt pattern. due to the fact they will be thinner than the trucks and they my not be as long as the trucks.

i doubt it. i think the explorer takes bigger and thicker rotors to carry the load. even if the rotors would work, the calipers would,nt work.
