Righteous Kill

Just came on to post almost identical thread!!

I'm looking forward to it, not seen a good serial killer movie for a while. I googled 'Righteous Kill review' earlier & got some quite poor reviews.

Rolling Stone gave it 1 star out of 4 & the Los Angeles Times' review wasn't exactly glowing either.

Granted, not the best places to check for a review but until the Empire review comes out, I'll hold my tongue. Think I'll go & see it anyway.

Saw this today, my advice: Wait for the DVD release and go watch Heat instead! Much better film, superior in every way - acting, script, direction.

Nothing new or original in this and even the acting was by numbers. De Niro and Pacino could have phoned in their roles!

I was hoping for some sparks, some electricity, some magic but all i got instead was a damp squib! On the upside, they had good chemistry when onscreen together and Carla Gugino is hot!

It's definetely not a 'serial killer' movie. It ain't no Se7en! :p

Bit of a letdown and boy does Pacino look really old these days! (still love the guy mind you! Hoo-aah!) :D

I saw it and felt PACINO was incredible!! It's a very interesting film and will keep your attention. I would also suggest "LAKEVIEW TERRACE" with Samuel L. Jackson.

I think I'll take your advice... I haven't come across a single good review yet, and user feedback seems to be more negative than positive.

Pacino IS incredible! He just wasn't incredible in this and was let down by the story and script.

He's always made hit and miss films, and i'm afraid this is the latter. But hey everyone's allowed an opinion and this is mine.

A lame movie: we and the two stars deserve better.
The plot would disgrace Murder, She Wrote.

Always good to see Brian Dennehy though: very few actors can steal a scene from De Niro or Pacino but he's one of them, even though he's getting on a bit.

The best part of this film was watching Pacino trying to deliver his lines through ill-fitting pensioner teeth and what looks to be a nylon toup

The script was certainly from a car boot sale.

Scooby Doo had more convincing plot twists.

"I wouldda godda wey wid it if it weren't for dose pesky psychiatrists"

Don't waste money at the cinema, rent it or wait till it eventually comes onto television.

It's rather poor, especially when expecting so much with two such leaRAB, got a good cast as well! shame really.

I didn't know at the time, but it's from the same guy who directed 88 Minutes. 88 Minutes was absolute rubbish also.

I was actually going to watch this tomorrow, but it seems to have been withdrawn at my local Cineworld. It was showing last week and we didn't get round to watching it, but now it's no longer listed:confused: Maybe it really did suck, although I personally thought it looked quite good:o

don't worry, you havent missed much.

De Niro was on autopilot and Pacino wasnt acting anything like typical Pacino (in fact, i felt his acting style was quite weird and he seemed strangly detached from the rest of the cast)...the production values made it look like a tv movie/ straight to dvd effort...you could spot the twist from a mile away and then they had the nerve to patronise the audience by over explaining it....the sub plot about De Niro and Carla Gugino's sex life was cringeworthy...what was the point of 50cent's character?....the casting was all wrong as de niro really should have been partnered with someone younger in order to give the 'twist' more impact......

basically, stick with Heat that is the ultimate Pacino/ De Niro collaboration.
