Three salesmen stay at a hotel for the night, and decide to split the cost of a room. When they reach the desk, the receptionist charges them $30 and they pay him $10 each. Later, the receptionist realises that there was a $5 discount for that night, so the receptionist gives the bellboy $5 to give to the three men. On his way, the bellboy took $2 for himself as a tip, giving the three men $1 each.

So, the men have paid $27 for the room, (9*3=27) and the $2 in the bellboy's pocket. Where is the extra dollar? (27+2=29)

Answer: There is no extra dollar, and the riddle is in the question itself. The problem is, the question is adding the $2 the bellboy took instead of subtracting it, thus (9*3=27, 27-2=25. The receptionist had $30 and lost $5, making 25. 25=25)

There is a man, and he has been found guilty of commiting a crime. As the judge is sentencing him, the judge tells the man, "If you tell me a lie, ill sentence you for 6 years in prison, and if you tell me a true statement, ill sentence you for 4 years." After the man replied, the judge set him free.

What did he say?

Answer:
"You will sentence me for 6 years in prison"
or
"You won't sentence me for 4 years in prison"

Out of fear of going back on his word, the judge didn't want to lie to the man, destroying his credebility
