riddle i cant figure out?

is you.. you crawl on all fours when your a baby walk on two legs when your older and then when your old you walk with a can meaning 3 legs and your an animal
 
well i heard a different variation of the same riddle and it was a human. four legs when it crawls as a baby, two when it learns to walk, three when it gets old and uses a cane
 
what crawls on 4 legs in the morning, 2 legs in afternoon and 3 legs in evening?

the hint was its an animal...

but maybe something else. i dont know what do you think?
 
It's a person.
when your a baby you walk on 4 legs, when your an adult you walk on 2 legs, and when you are old you use a cane making 3 legs.
The morning refers to your life as a baby, the afternoon refers to your life as an adult, and the evening is your old age.
