Riddle? (best answer if you get it right!)?

First, I don't really understand this one a little. But I think it's a fun riddle.
What has 4 legs, during mornning.
And has 2 legs, during the afternoon.
and also has 3 legs during night.
(1. I found this riddle from a book
2. It really didnt make sense to me, but i think its okay)
 
well I'll explain it to you^^
the answer is man
when we are babies we crawl around on all fours.
as we grow we are able to stand on two legs. We continue to grow and some must use a cane. That is the third leg.
 
ive heardthis one before from a cartoon animation from 'the mummy'
cant think of it now! but will check later

Humans. They crawl on all 4 in the morning of their life, Walk on 2 in the afternoon, And use a cane as a 3rd in the evening of their life.
 
Human, it was one of the earliest riddles to illustrate the passage of time.
It's called "Riddle of the Sphinx"
