I am impress he went as far as taking on Dreamworks just to make sure they didn't mess Innocence up. Alas he fail but you gotta admit he did try his hardest. Kind of rare seeing someone so passionate about the character they voiced. Just another reason Epcar is awesome .

"Otakon in Boston"?

Hunh?

Either he got his place or his con confused. Otakon's in Baltimore; Anime Boston is in,well, Boston.

Otherwise, godo to see he's pasionate about the project. He's always had a soft spot for Batou.

This article is based on a huge misunderstanding. I'll attempt to explain it.

"So last year Oshii released a revamped version of Innocence last year. Actually, it

I don't think so.

Article says: " In anime I’m working on a title called Monster, where I play a detective. It’s akin to the old Fugitive series, and I’m the dogged inspector who ruins his entire life hunting down this man."

SounRAB more Lunge to me.

That article was so confusing, I'm not sure what the heck is going on.

What is Richard Epcar upset about? I mean justice was served. He went to the UK and put together his own dub for Innocence with the SAC cast. And then Bandai finally rescued it from the jerks at Dreamworks and they dubbed it again with the main SAC voice actors.

Why would they take out Harroway out of Innocence? That was one of the most important and coolest scenes in the movie? So they didn't bring back Epcar's wife, it was more important we got the voice actors who had been playing the characters on TV.

He's upset because he thinks he "got it", and that his dub was of high enough quality to be released in Region 1.

I'm not sure what the differences between the two dubs are script wise and acting wise, but this sounRAB like a case of him taking it personally that Bandai/Manga didn't feel like his dub was good enough to use on 2.0.

But Epcar is a professional, and surely he should understand that Bandai couldn't get the rights to that version.

Shouldn't he be happy he gets to do it again and fans in the US are finally getting their own English dub and they got pretty much the same VA's back?

I think it's more a victory that Bandai liberated Innocence from Dreamworks and he gets to come back and dub it for the American fans. He should be proud because I think the own dub he spearheaded helped that.

Bandai didn't get people like Johnny Depp or whatever. They got the SAC va's. I understand that the other characters were recast, but thems the breaks.

Evangelion when they re-mastered it, some of the roles need to be re-recorded and some of the original VA's from the 90's weren't available. Thems the breaks.

Do you mean 2.0 or Innocence?

So the new Innocence DVD release has both the UK dub and the new Bandai dub?

I mean if that's the case . . . what the heck is all this debate about and did this development happen after that article was written?

Again, the writer didn't really know what was going on and it was very poorly written.
