Richard Bacon's Beer and Pizza Club

I was going to post about this earlier as it's the first i've heard of it but this seems to be the second or third episode (from looking at the website).

I like Great Unanswered Questions and this seems a more manly, matey, dumbed down version.

Will give it a try seeing though i've nowt else to do.

It's a kind of chatshow but the guests aren't really being interviewed. They just have to put out a question or thought that the others have to discuss and the best/fuinniest answer gets points.

It's not as good as Great Unanswered Questions from what i've seen so far.

Seems quite likeable, on first viewing. A bit like Loose Women except they're men. Or Fantasy Football League, without the football. And pizza instead of fantasy. And no league.

I do love Great Unanswered Questions- especially the radio version. This isn't in that league, but it's amiably enjoyable. Ideal post-pub watching on itv4+1 I reckon (if you've already seen every single episode of QI on Dave)

I enjoyed it. Nice and simple.

Not sure about all the props being used though, as it kind of kills the faux spontaneity a bit...

Thought it might be more like Flipside TV. One of Bacon's previous TV offerings, where guests flicked through TV channels live and exchanged banter etc. I liked that, thought it was something a bit different.

This was OK, and I'll series link it, but it still has that 'produced and edited down' feel about it. Which is fine! But not different. Just means it's more like an open plan panel show.

Apart from the evidence of pre-production, and all the props, and the fact that it is obviously planned. Yes! A bit.

But more like Baddiel & Skinner's Fantasy Football... Without the football. As suggested earlier in the thread.

It's worth a look.

It was OK, but the appearanceof that t!t Rufus "how many shows can I be on this week when I'm just an annoying **** with a daft beard" Hound spoiled it for me.

Richard Bacon actually seems to be someone who really has come along way since all the Blue Peter and Big Breakfast tom foolery. I think he is great on the radio and he really surprised me on covering the Jeremy Vine show once, he was a very good journalist and interviewed people really well. I'll have to check this show out, it sounRAB like it could be good, depending on his guests though.

I really liked last night's show and have a feeling this one will go from strength to strength.

PS. can't believe how dazzling Richard's teeth are these days :D
