It would be a shame if he did, he doesn't come across to me as a good Norman Osborne. Maybe he could be Maxwell Dillon, I think he could be a good Electro. However that would mean he would be a bit part villian, something reminiscent of Spider-man 3 and those villians. And that is not a good thing.

No chance that has to be Christopher Biggins.
I can't see it being Doc Connors/The Lizard as he isn't a strong baddie that will pull an audience in. Other than looking like a lizard in a Doctor's coat what is he? No flying about, no pyrotechnics etc. I think that is why he was never used in the other films other than as Doc Connors just to act as something for the fanboys to say cool there's.......
Electro is a possibility as he is an A-List villain that will look great visually. Mysterio could be a bit hit and miss. Especially as his costume looks stupid. Imagine the non comic readers seeing the dome for a head etc. They'll take one look and think wtf?
Although like Lizard I think he's pretty uninteresting as an live action villain it could be the Vulture. But would what is essentially a weak adversary be used in a major reboot/relaunch?
Something tells me that it's going to be The Green Goblin and this time they will do it right and go for the traditional costume and not the Power Range outfit.

I think the Green Goblin will be in the first film of the rebooted franchise, as the the character is linked to spider-man, and recently has been more linked with the origin of Spider-man.
But I don't like Rhys Ifans for the role, and this is why I think they might introduce a second baddie who will not dominate the story but will annoy Spidey.

Not looking forward to this! Don't like him, and I'm not sold on the guy playing Peter. Too bad we can't get a Spider Man 4 instead.

Its been confirmed that Rhys Ifans is playing Curt Conners/The Lizard in the new Spiderman film according to Dark Horizons website:
"Though cast earlier this week, it was unsure what villain Rhys Ifans would play in the upcoming "Spider-Man" reboot at Sony Pictures. Well now it seems The Lizard will be his character according to The Wrap
In the comics, Dr. Curt Connors is a Florida surgeon who lost an arm during a stint in the army. Returning to civilian life as a research technologist, he tried to re-grow his amputated arm using an experiment in reptilian limb regeneration. The procedure worked but eventually turned him into The Lizard.
Dylan Baker played the role of Connors in the previous Sam Raimi-directed films. In that mythology he was re-imagined as Peter Parker's physics professor at University, but the actor never got the chance to portray the transformed version of the character.
There were rumors that Venom would serve as the villain in the Marc Webb-directed project, however the character is not going to show up at all apparently."
