Rewire 12v car accessories?

is there a way that i can rewire a 12v car accessory that normally plugs into the cigarette lighter? (the accessory is LED lights) i want to connect it to a wire coming from my battery. This wire plugs into my subwoofer amplifier and it is labeled 12+. There is also a 12-. i am guessing that i can just splice the two wires that come from the lights and connect it to the 12+ and 12- lines. Is there any way that i could get this to work?
 
It should work. You might want to wire it with a fuse. Cigarette lighter accessories often have a fuse inside the plug.
