Revolutionary Road

I enjoyed the film - some of the husband / wife squabbling was reminiscent of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? :)

I haven't read the novel, but I can't belive that 1950's America was so affluent that a young couple with two children living on one income in a posh suburb could save enough to be able to live for six months!

Maybe I'm taking it too literaly, but from the standpoint of Britain today, I thought Blimey!

I can only imagine this was part of April's fantasising - like getting a secretarial job in Paris without any evidence of skills or experience

It was good - quite grim in places, though. And, yes, I was constantly reminded of American Beauty. I'd need to see RR again to make a judgment as to how well it rates by comparison with AB - at the moment, I'd say AB was a fair bit better.

As an aside, I think LdC is born to play these period drama roles (especially 1950s) - must be his hair :) Catch me if you can is a great, under-rated film (and it has warmth and fun, which RR seriously lacks).

I thought it was bloody awful!
Over acted and just screaming Oscar, Oscar, Oscar - glad it failed on that front.
I thought they could have done a much better job with capturing the era too - if you have seen Mad Men you will know what I mean.
Cliche after cliche for me I'm afraid - and I normally enjoy both actors.
