Though having not been raised in a religious family, I was made to attend church regularly in order to secure a place in a local High School. During this time I was ‘Christened’ and ‘Confirmed’ in the Church of England or Anglican tradition. Throughout High School I was forced to take communion many times, despite my having not set foot in a church since I was 13.
My life’s values have long disagreed with the creeds and lessons Christianity encourages one to follow. To elucidate briefly, I am uncomfortable with the crimes committed by Christians throughout history, mainly towards Europe’s Jewish population. Therefore, I wish to return any formal association I once had with the church. That is: To return my ‘Christening’ and ‘Confirmation’ and recount any holy communions I have taken in my life.
Does anyone know how I may go about this?
Thank you kindly for all your help.
