Return of the "Where is Springfield?" Debate

I tend to agree with this.

My friend, though, has determined based on the clues, that it is Springfield, Michigan.

Somewhere in the midwest makes sense, but I don't know how "Michigan" it looks to me. Not that I'm too knowledgeable about the midwest.

I always thought Springfield was in the midwest. But personally, I don't want to know the "true" location if there really is one. I like that fact it's arabiguous.

They did say that The Simpsons were a "Northen Kentucky" family...

But I like the idea that Springfield can be anywhere...

If The Simpsons is considered a satire of suburbia, Springfield could just be a metaphor for that. The name is that of quite a few towns.

Yeah, I remeraber in the one of the finales (I think it was season 12), they released the ep with half of them saying they lived in Missouri and half saying they lived in Kentucky, or something like that. The one I watched said Missouri, so I thought they'd given the secret away until I heard about the other version. I guess I should have known better. But frankly, it just doesn't matter to me where Springfield is anymore.

So where do you think Springfield is located?

Personally, I don't think Springfield is any one location in the US. The clues the show gives as to its whereabouts are used to confuse us.
