Results for CatScan for lower back pain

Hello, I'm new here but would like to ask the community a question. I just got the results of my CAT Scan and it says at the level of L3-4 3mm right infraforaminal disc bulging is noted and there in tsays there is morerate right neuroforaminal narrowing and final it says there is mild bilateral facet hypertrophu at the level of L4-5.

Could someone explain this in English for me and also what are my treatment options. i've been treated with meRAB for chronic back pain for the last 5 years and thought about implanting a neurotransmitter. Would that be wise or is there other treatments besides pain medications and going on disability. I can't sit more than a few minutes and cant stand more than a few minutes. I feel like i've lost my life and forgot who I really was;

Welcome to the board! CAn I ask who has been treating your back? Is it a good neuro back doctor, or is it your gp? Are you in pain management? Have you tried anything besides meRAB?

There are alot of different modalites that can be tried-and should be tried before you have a pump implanted. That is like the last resort. It's like you started the alphabet and skiped from B to Z. There are injections, and physical therapy, accupuncture, bio feedback, yoga, medication...and the list goes on.

If you aren't seeing a good surgeon, plese get into one. AND if you can answer some of the questions, it will give us a better idea of what you have already tried. And again, welcome :wave:
 
Thanks for replying I've been treated at a pain management clinic for about 8 years. I've done about 9 epidurals , then the cortisone shots, and finally the radio abllation to burn the nerves off but nothing has helped

If Epidural Steroid injections and PT have done nothing, you might ask for a Lidoderm patch or Voltaren gel to apply at the source.

I suspect your next move should be to find a competent Neurosurgeon to review your MRI/CT and see if surgery would help.
