I have a crazy neighbor who rents out rooms in his house to college kids. I used to be friends with him. He has a crazy girl living there that I do not like, nor does she like me. I have not actually talked to this girl for about 6-8 months. She dresses and acts like a "woman of the world". All of us other neighbors refer to her among ourselves as "the slut". Things have been just fine until about 4 weeks ago she decided to walk over to my property and put a note in my mailbox. I responded a day later with placing a note on her car (that was parked on a public road). Well, she decided to call the police (for me putting a note on her car). The policeman told me that she agreed to stop putting notes in my mailbox if I didn't put anymore on her car. I said "no problem".
About 2 weeks after that I received a restraining order at my door. After reading it, I discovered that the order was filled with lies. She stated that I said I was going to "beat her ass". She also, stated that I taped a "sock full of nickels" to her car and that I placed a note on the front door of the house she lives in that said "nickelface". (If I was going to put a sock full of anything on her car...it wouldn't be nickels). I assure you that I have no idea what the significance of this would be, but either way I was not the one who did it nor did I ever threaten to "beat her ass". I was not even home on the days that she said I did it. Here is the other thing, I have 24/7 time and date stamped video surveillance on my house and I have her on tape putting the note in my mailbox. I also, have video of me leaving and coming home on the days she states that I did these things. The TRO says that I cannot be within 100 yards of her or her vehicle...well my house is approx. 50 yards away from hers. I have talked with a police officer and he assured me that if I go outside to play basketball with my son or wash my car, I will not be in violation.
I have signed statements from my employer and co-worker stating that I was at work during the hours of this so called "nickel" caper. Also, I have video showing I wasn't here. However, she did call the police and report to them that I was the one responsible for it. The police never came to my house or questioned me about it.
Just to show you that he (the neighbor) really is crazy. I had been friends with him for 12 years...his roommate (the slut) has lived there less than a year and will be leaving in a few months when she graduates. He also had her name him on the restraining order.
Before you get all bent-out-of-shape that we call her "the slut", let me assure you that it is not without good reason. She has a habit of bringing over different guys every other night (all night). The kids in the neighborhood see this and ask questions. Not to mention too many other reason to list that have also caused her to become "labeled" in the neighborhood.
I go to court on Wednesday and I am just curious to know what the chances are of her actually getting a permanent or against me?
What, if anything can I do about the lies?
Any lawyers?
