Restless Legs?

Lately, within the last month, I have experienced that yucky restless legs feeling. It had only happened a couple of times, but it has happened the last 2 days in a row. I feel it in my legs, my back believe it or not, and when it gets really bad, my arms too. Does this have something to do with my back issues? I horrid sciatic pain as well as lower back pain. I have Grade 1 Spondy as well disc degeneration with a bulge at L4-L5 and a disc herniation with a loss of disc height at L5-S1.

Thanks for any input!

Hi Meggs,

I've suffered from RLS since I was a teen (that was a long time ago). It has only been in the last year that I found out I had a nuraber of congential and non-congential spine issues, including DDD and bulging discs. I have had constant sciatic pain for the past year in my left leg, and this is the very same leg that has always been affected most by the RLS. No doctor has ever told me so, but I am convinced that the RLS is related somehow to my spine and back problems.

It is related. There are many types of RLS,some have had it from low iron intake. Some due to injury.I have it and it is the most awful thing a person can go through.I have tried every medication out there and it doesn't help. The only thing that has helped me is Lortab.People will say," it's addictive " Well I don't care.I was at the end of my rope. I have one of the most serious cases of it my doctor has ever seen.Everyone is different so maybe the miripex type meRAB work for them but it made mine worse.I get epiderals and shots in my facets,I have bulging disk and a few other big worded issues. If you have it so bad that you wish you could just die, take the Lortab.I don't know why it works but it does. They can't correct it,there is no cure. It's your life, your sanity. You can use Lortab 5 mg at onset and it will stop within 1/2 an hr. Take the meRAB,or loose your mind.........

just wondering if you have ever actually had your upper(t and c spine areas)MRIed at some point just to rule out anything being up there? i am only wondering since this RLS seems to be more of a sudden onset type thing and not something that was there before a certain point? am i right in this assumption? what you described as kind of being all over your body just could be stemming from something affecting your cord further up. when the actual cord is involved, you get HYPER reflexes, not a lowering as what i had assumed befroe my spinal cord was damaged. my reflexes are way off the charts now compared to how they were pre injury. its just something that should be checked on for other casues. this could just be plain old RLS,or it could aslo be stemming from spinal cord affectation somewhere. its the sudden onset that has me concerned. other possibilities just really need to be ruled out. please keep us posted.
