Rest days exercise days??? Easy question 10 points!!!?

I have yesterday started a gain muscle program I made up, and today is a rest day. My muscles are sore, I'm guessing recovering, and wondering if I should let them repair fully before continuing exercise? My next exercise day is tomorrow, and wondering if I should continue exercising tomorrow??? Another question, while I am recovering, am I getting stronger? And as my workout I am doing push ups, sit ups, Crunches and occasionally pull ups. On sundays I do leg exercises. (Just so you know what I'm doing if your curios) But just the two first questions would be helpful if you could answer, and any tips you can give me for getting stronger (Mainly around the arms) would be great, I will try. I don't have weights
