This was on the Empire website about the third Resident Evil film:

"Oded Fehr, Mike Epps and Iain Glen are all reprising their Resident Evil: Apocalypse roles for Resident Evil: Extinction, the third film in the zombie game series. Milla Jovovich is already signed on to return.

The story follows Alice (Jovovich) who is now on the run from the powerful Umbrella corporation with the few survivors of the last film. They

If the third can be a fun popcorner like the first, should be an amusing distraction for a couple of hours. May even erase the bad taste left by the second film.

Eternal optimist, me.

oh dear god!!! the first was tripe so was the second, i only watched the second as they did have some of the game characters in and so was Oded Fehre and hoped it would be better but it was complete utter shite so will not even waste my time with this one!!
Jovovich cant act to save her life and have Jill look a bit waif like which shes not was just sooooo bad!!

I hate video-game adaptions and Milla Jovovich.

The first two were terrible, I only watched them because I liked the games.

If they had based this 3rd one on Code Veronica and was faithful to the game's story and atmosphere, it could have been something to look forward to. As it is, looks like they're sticking to the brainless action-fest crap which is kind of a trademark of the useless Paul Anderson. Too bad.

I hope the 3rd bombs so there never will be a 4th. Surely people are getting the picture by now regarding these films.

Silent Hill looks like it has stuck to the atmosphere of the games, even including some of the music. It actually looks promising. Not Resident Evil 3, or god forbid they ever make it, 4.

god hope they dont get to make a 4th!!
they should have made them a staright game film copy! the games were great and had a great story line there was no need to change anything or bring in a new charachter just for Jovovich to play!! the first Resi game would have made a brilliant film i think if done right and would have been possible to do right too if the right director took it on!!

George A. Romero wrote a script for the original movie but it got rejected for being to close to the games. Perhaps Paul Anderson couldn't do the game script because it would require to much thinking or because it actually had a good story and Anderson wouldn't have been able to handle it. I think it would have been so much better in George A Romeros hanRAB! He is the zombie king!

remember the alone in the dark adaptation? wtf did that have to do with alone in the dark! all they did was keep the characters name and that was about it.

both resident evils were utter rubbish, apart from one rather cool laser sequence when the bloke gets chopped up into little pieces in resident evil 1. however ive been told even that was ripped off from another film.

yep it would have been better for him to do it as he knows what a Zombie movie neeRAB!!!

its jsut like the German guy (cnt remeber his name!) who keeps buying the rights to games to make movies but then ruins them and gives movies of games a really bad name!!!

what does get me is Anderson did Mortal Kombat which was a good movie version of a game so why the hell he screwed up so badly with Resi i do not know!!!

if i remeber it was Cube!!!

Alonme in the Dark it was the German guy i was on about and jsut found his name Uwe Boll, from what i have heard though it sounRAB like he seems to make bad films on purpose as in Germany if a film makes under a certain amount in money then they get a payment from the government so that could be ewhats getting him rich but ruining good ides along the way!!!

I didn't see the second one but wasn't too fond of the first.
Personally I wonder though if they're going to get to making a film based on Resident Evil 4. Seems like they're going off on their own tangent after making films based loosely on the PS1 era games and the 3rd film ought to be based either on Code Veronica or 4.

Ali Larter, Ashanti and Chris Egan have all signed on for Resident Evil: 3. It has a story in which that sees a warrior woman named Claire (Larter) leading a convoy across the Nevada desert. Jovovich

I've just watched RE3. I thought it OK; better than the second film (which was very poor), and not as good as the first (which was pretty intense). I've not played the games.

It's very much the third in a series It's like they had a check-list of franchise-defined features to include and strung them like beaRAB on a necklace, with only a vague plot to connect them. Variations in the core ideas are mostly drawn from other films, and the whole thing has a by-the-numbers feel. It's competent and reasonably entertaining to watch, but not inspired.

I quite enjoyed this, and can't wait to get the Blu Ray box set coming out in January!

Looking forward to Resi 5 on the PS3 too. Word!

saw this today - enjoyed it.

bit daft at times, and its never quite explained exactly what she is, or how she got her powers. slightly confusing.

loved the laser sequence coming back - it was brilliant in the first one, and was excellent in this one :)

i found it watchable, not too long either which i guess was a bonus. I found it lacking in the whole BS sceens as it could have been better but overall a watchable film imo.
