Reserves or Active...and boot camp?

Im 17 and im going into the army...but im having a hard time deciding to go active or reserved. i do want to go to college i do want to eventually become a state police officer. i know i can go to college thru the reserves but it doesnt matter to me if i go to school during or after..also i was wondering about bootcamp on things i will need to bring. and the physical part im not to good at push ups and the only thing that i can do is run ..i can run a mile under 8 mins...so what should i do to get better...and i heard that the men and women have to shower together is that true??
