...for health safety ? Querry Sent to BARC

Huge, bulky telecommunication towers on top of tall buildings is not an uncommon site in the major cities these days. But there is a possibility that these towers may not be safe for humans living near it in ways more than one.The towers are generating tremendous amount of electromagnetic waves that were polluting the environment and threatening health problems, and causing damages to the structure of the buildings. There are, so far, no restrictions on the locations of towers. We would like to know from health point of View , Are this tower safe for Health?

BARC Clarification
In this regard, we wish to you that BARC is not the appropriate authority as far as safety aspects of radio frequency (RF) radiation used in the mobile communication is concerned. However, for your information . the RF radiation power density level in the atmosphere not exceed 0.2 -1.0m W/cm square in 400-200 MHz frequency range according to international commission on Non Ionisizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) As per our knowledge , particularly in case of cellular base stations, the roof mounted antenna installations of height more than 10 m do not pose risk as the radiation exposure is well below the limits prescribed by the international health guidelines to the general population of the building such as direct access to the terrace having cellular antenna installation. Till date no conclusive health risk is established for RF radiation used in mobile telecommunication by the international science studies for the general public
