I have been calling customer service for over two months now to get my account closed and for some reason they just will not close it and they keep on charging my card. . I am basically paying for a service that i do not use. It's ridiculous. I have called seriously 5 or 6 times a week for the past month and a half and everytime i tell them i want to permanantley close my account they have put me on hold for at least 45 minutes everytime or hung up on me!

Anyone had this problem?

My account still isn't closed by the way. .

They actually charge you?

That's a first in my experience, everyone that I see come in decides whether or not they want to pay their bill (if it's too high) and just go ahead and start a new service for what it would cost to pay the bill (phone and all).

Then again everyone I see pays cash.

I hope that gets worked out for you though.

I had cricket for a couple years back and awhile ago i set up direct pay from my discover account. They keep charging it. That is why i am trying to call and cancel

Reporting cricKet to the BBB is a waste of time, cricKet could care less. The BBB is not a government agency and has NO authority over any business. They are a for profit corporation existing solely to take money from businesses so they can tell the businesses customers that they are a meraber. All the BBB can do is send cricKet a letter telling them if they don't respond they will report it in their file. Like anyone will call BBB to see if they should get cricKet.

Now what you should do is call the bank that issued the card and dispute the charge as not authorized, your bank will put the money back in your account within 24 hours and charge it back to cricKet. Then make sure the bank cancels that card and issues you a new one so cricKet can have no possible way to charge you again.

or gee maybe you should haul your lazy butt down to a cricket corp store and ask them to cancel it right in front of you. If it is so damned important and no one on the phone has been able to help you...TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT!!!!

Never ceases to amaze me the folks that blame any business for not helping them when they are too lazy to help themselves.

FYI, if someone noted your account about you calling in to cancel two months ago, you may actually be able to get that money refunded. Go to a corporate store and don't be a jerk and they should help you.

I will agree with you guys.... Customers complaint too much.
Just call your credit card company to stop the charge
or
Go to a full service Cricket Store to Cancel
or
Go Online to disable you ABP (automatic Bill Pay)
or
go to any dealer Cricket Store to disable ABP

Call Discover and Dispute it, its that simple. Discover will cover your *** and refund you, and Cricket will cancel for non-payment. They don't send it to collections, instead they will try to get you come back for free.

if they are charging you for service and you arent even using their service i would report them...

if they are not willing to close your account and you DO have service with a phone just port out to a prepaid that will automatically port your nuraber out

I had this problem a few years ago. I used a company phone and called Cricket to cancel my account. I got billed liked you did. I called and called like you did and got the run around. Finally, I did tinker with the online bill pay options, called my bank and had my credit card nuraber changed (free of charge too). Finally, I called Cricket one more time and immediately said - GIVE ME A SUPERVISOR. I talked to this supervisor for nearly a half an hour. She was dead behind the eyes, so I told her I want to speak with her boss, and don't disconnect me either. Finally, after two more supervisors I was refunded the months of charges.

My advice, be persistent. Basically, be a PIA! I was!
