LOL I am trying to be patient with them but things are not going so well. My problem:
My SK2 is not working properly (not holding a charge and a loose screw is rattling around inside the phone). I am having to fully shut down the device (when I go to sleep) and hold the small end of the charger inside the phone to get a full charge (during the day at home which makes it a little difficult to type and hold the charger in at the same time). The chager will not stay fully connected to the phone. It slides out if I put the phone down while charging it. There is no physical damage to the phone (I guess dropping it caused the screw to dislodge itself from somewhere inside the phone LOL) and no water is inside the phone.
How I Got The Phone That's Having Problems:
I got the first SK2 back on December 26, 2005 (A Christmas gift from my parents). I had to send it back about 6 weeks later (around late February, early March 2006). I get the second one, the one I own now, and things went well. I put it aside until this past weekend cause I got tired of it LOL.
I reactivate the SK2 this past weekend and notice that the battery is not receiving a full charge, and that I have to hold the small end of the charger into the port on the phone to get a charge (and turn the phone completely off. I didn't have to do this when I used 2 other SK's previous to this). I have also admittedly dropped the phone before and after reactivating it.
I have sent emails back and forth with T-Mo describing the problem and trying the troubleshooting tips given (soft and hard resets did not work).
I was told: 1) My warranty expired; 2) They would not do a handset exchange; and 3) If I called the insurance (Assurion), I would get a refurbished SK2. I would like to receive an SK3 after all my trouble with this phone. I activated the phone this past Saturday and thought the problem was because the phone had not been used.
My questions are the following: 1) How can I prove to them that the phone might still be under warranty (because I got it 6 weeks after the original phone)? 2) How can I get a replacement and not just a refurb'd SK2 but a brand new SK3 (since I have heard there are very few 2's being shipped out)?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I love T-Mobile but sometimes they can get on my bad side too LOL
