Replacment Question

Here is a question for a T-Mobile tech I sent my phone to be replaced since my pearls battery cover keeps sliding off by it self. Now the rep asked me if the phone had any water damage or cracks in the screen and it doesnt. So they issued me a replacment and shipped it out. My question is my phone has two scratches on the side basically little marks but no cracks or scratches on the screen. I just want to make sure I am not going to get charge a fee when they receive my old phone.

They shouldn't give you a hard time with this. Why did you send it back? Remember, they only asked you about water damage or a cracked screen. You should be ok.

This happened to me when I sent my first 7105T back. I sent it back due to a loose USB port (would not keep a charge and you could see the actual port on the side of the phone move when you inserted or removed the USB cable).

I get the replacement 7105T and a few weeks later get a bill for nearly $200 (my regular bill plus an extra $100 for out of warranty damage, their name for water damage).

I go to the local store who calls wherever broken phones are sent. They tell me that they found water damage because the water sticker on the inside of the phone was red, not white. Only reason I see they claimed that was because the shipping package had no way for air to get in to keep the phone dry.

I pay that bill, and then guess what happens??? Scroll wheel locks up. Same trip to get a replacement (my Pearl). Sent the 2nd 7105T back. I just got my bill the other day and NO CHARGE for water damage

I think it depends on who inspects the phones when they received them. Just be sure to check your phone to be sure the sticker is white before sending it off.

Funny thing is that they have been treating me better financially now than they did this time last year except with that one foulup.

I mean I should have no water damage, other than having a drink in my hand and my hand being wet when I have to answer the phone. I am going to be pissed if they charge me. They also said cracks on the case but I dont have cracks I have 2 nicks but thats it.

diesel dont trip man, T-mobile has the BEST customer service out there, seriously they are friendly and very helpful. You gotta love 'em! =) (As long as you're nice and patient with them!)

LOL I am trying to be patient with them but things are not going so well. My problem:

My SK2 is not working properly (not holding a charge and a loose screw is rattling around inside the phone). I am having to fully shut down the device (when I go to sleep) and hold the small end of the charger inside the phone to get a full charge (during the day at home which makes it a little difficult to type and hold the charger in at the same time). The chager will not stay fully connected to the phone. It slides out if I put the phone down while charging it. There is no physical damage to the phone (I guess dropping it caused the screw to dislodge itself from somewhere inside the phone LOL) and no water is inside the phone.

How I Got The Phone That's Having Problems:

I got the first SK2 back on December 26, 2005 (A Christmas gift from my parents). I had to send it back about 6 weeks later (around late February, early March 2006). I get the second one, the one I own now, and things went well. I put it aside until this past weekend cause I got tired of it LOL.

I reactivate the SK2 this past weekend and notice that the battery is not receiving a full charge, and that I have to hold the small end of the charger into the port on the phone to get a charge (and turn the phone completely off. I didn't have to do this when I used 2 other SK's previous to this). I have also admittedly dropped the phone before and after reactivating it.

I have sent emails back and forth with T-Mo describing the problem and trying the troubleshooting tips given (soft and hard resets did not work).

I was told: 1) My warranty expired; 2) They would not do a handset exchange; and 3) If I called the insurance (Assurion), I would get a refurbished SK2. I would like to receive an SK3 after all my trouble with this phone. I activated the phone this past Saturday and thought the problem was because the phone had not been used.

My questions are the following: 1) How can I prove to them that the phone might still be under warranty (because I got it 6 weeks after the original phone)? 2) How can I get a replacement and not just a refurb'd SK2 but a brand new SK3 (since I have heard there are very few 2's being shipped out)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I love T-Mobile but sometimes they can get on my bad side too LOL

hmmm, interesting Erica.
Well you see they seem to be sooo nice to me everytime I call. (At least some of the representatives I talk to)

I dont know how YOU could prove T-mobile wrong.. Unless you fuss a little and maybe hmm... your last resort say that you're going to switch service providers because of the bad customer service.. That always works hehehe
Good luck

Don't have to do any fussing now. Gonna get my SK3 Monday when I go get my mom's H500 BT from Motorola. My dad told me he'd help me pay for it
