I want to upgrade my speakers in my minivan. I actually have two questions in one. first, is the installation (replacement) easy for someone to do if you have never done it before? Second, about how much do you think I would have to spend per speaker in order to actually be getting a "better" speaker than what the van came with?

Thank You, I appreciate any input.

modern vehicles do not have the easy speaker access that older vehicles had. This means you are going to have to remove interior panels just to get to them. The plus is that modern cars are all snap-on construction so you should only need some pry tools, but if you don't know where they are they break easily and you will be stuck with loose paneling. Once you disconnect the speaker you will have to cut off the factory speaker plug and hook up the new leads.

Also OEM radios have low power output so if you upgrade your speakers they will sound clearer at low volume but the same as your old speakers when you turn it up. Expect to spend around $60 for a pair (depends on size and brand).

door panels and trim usually come off with ease, one you find the few screws that normally hold them on... i suggest wooferect.com to find your new speakers. it is very hard to find any aftermarket speaker that are worst then what comes standard in most vehicles
