Replacing head unit in 2000 Cadillac Deville?

My friend has a 2000 Cadillac (I think its a deville though it might be a seville I forget lol) and the cd player stopped working. He found a new head unit identical to his online...however, the seller doesn't have the security codes for it. Is there any way to get one or get around the codes, or is he better off not buying it?
 
you can take it in to the dealership and they may or may not be able to get the codes for you. ask him to have the guy selling it do that for you. if the seller cant get it for you then youre better off not buying it
